TACOMA, Wash. – May 1, 2024 – Sprague Pest Solutions, a leading pest management company serving the Western United States, announces a significant leadership transition as Alfred (“Alfie”) H. Treleven III steps back from his role as CEO. Ross Treleven, the current President of Sprague, will assume the position of President & CEO.
Alfred H. Treleven III, known affectionately as Alfie, has been a cornerstone of Sprague since 1981, when he joined his brother Larry Treleven as the second member of the third generation of Treleven’s to lead the company. Over the past four decades, under Alfred’s stewardship, Sprague has experienced unprecedented growth, evolving from less than $1 million annual revenue company to over $48 million by 2023. This remarkable achievement was accomplished by the establishment of 15 new service locations, expansion into 8 additional Western US states, and the acquisition of 23 pest control companies. Alfred’s unwavering dedication has faithfully served Sprague and its mission.
In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the pest management industry, Alfred and Larry were both individually honored with the prestigious NPMA’s Pinnacle Award in 2023. This esteemed accolade, the NPMA’s highest honor, celebrates individuals who have made significant and enduring contributions to both the association and the pest management industry throughout their careers.
Beyond his role at Sprague, Alfred has been actively involved in various industry and community endeavors. He has served as President of Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA), Chairman of Copesan Services, and board member for several esteemed organizations, including the Pest Management Foundation, PestSure, Association for Washington Business, and the Health Maintenance Organization of Washington. He has also served on numerous local community boards in Washington state. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of Sprague’s Board of Directors.
Reflecting on his tenure at Sprague, Alfred expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the company. “It has been an honor to serve as CEO of Sprague for 43 years. I have full confidence in the leadership team’s capabilities and am excited to see the company thrive under their guidance.”
