TACOMA, Wash. – July 31, 2024 – Sprague Pest Solutions, a leading provider of commercial-only pest control in the Western United States, celebrates the recipients of the 4th annual Sprague Scholarship. The scholarship program, created in 2020, intends to recognize Sprague team members, their dependents, and family members for their academic excellence, leadership potential, and dedication to our communities.
This year broke the previous record for total applications received, making the choice for the selection committee even harder. After much deliberation, Sprague has distributed a combined $10,000 USD to four remarkable individuals:
- Makeilee Johnson of Wenatchee, WA attending Pacific Lutheran University – daughter of Sprague Route Manager Eric Garcia.
- Maddie Van Steenwyk of Turlock, CA attending San Diego State University – daughter of Sprague Regional Entomologist Darren Van Steenwyk.
- Londyn Nettles of Sacramento, CA attending California State University – daughter of Sprague Regional Account Manager Dave Nettles.
- Jaden Jennings of Lake Stevens, WA attending Western Washington University – son of Sprague Regional Account Manager Gary Jennings.
By providing financial assistance, the Sprague scholarship empowers team members and their families to pursue higher education, even when their dreams take them beyond the world of pest management. This program is just one small way that Sprague demonstrates its commitment to widening access to education and investing in the communities we serve.
“One of our core principals is ‘All Learning. We Win or We Learn’ and our scholarship program embodies that mentality.” said Leila Starwich, Director of People Operations at Sprague. “By supporting these bright and motivated students, we are investing in their futures and reinforcing our commitment to an ethos of learning and development.”
