Sprague Pest Solutions Expands Its Technical Services Team

As a result of Sprague’s growing presence in the Western United States, Sprague Pest Solutions has expanded its technical services team.

The expansion, which mirrors the company’s commitment to education and training that has seen nearly 15 percent of all Sprague employees earn advanced entomology degrees or designations, will provide expanded and more flexible technical resources for clients and Sprague’s field staff.

Stepping into the three new regional entomologist positions are:

Ashley Roden, B.C.E.

A valued member of the Sprague technical services team member since 2013, Roden will expand her current role and serve as regional entomologist along the I-5 corridor from Seattle to Portland. Roden holds a master’s degree in entomology from the University of Georgia.

Bobbie Orr, B.C.E.

Orr, a proven entomologist and educator, will support Sprague’s growing and diverse client base in California, Nevada and portions of Oregon. A graduate of the University of California, Davis with a degree in entomology, Orr has worked for both national and regional pest service companies.

Dr. Richard Houseman

Houseman, the newest member of the Sprague technical services team, brings a wealth of experience in pest control research, analysis and training and education. His resume includes being associate professor of urban entomology at the University of Missouri and instructor and post-doctoral research associate at Texas A&M University. Houseman will support Sprague service centers in Colorado, Idaho and Utah.

Additionally, recently retired Sprague technical director, Jeff Weier, B.C.E., will serve as a consultant to the technical services team. Weier, known for his innovative approach to designing and implementing pest control programs, brings with him extensive client and institutional knowledge.

“All three of our regional entomologists bring a wealth of expertise to their roles,” said Ross Treleven, president of Sprague Pest Solutions. “These talented individuals not only allow us to provide expanded technical support and consulting to our clients but bring fresh eyes to technical issues across Sprague multi-state state service area.”

Sprague CEO Alfie Treleven added the Tacoma-based company, founded in 1926 and the largest privately held, commercial services-only pest management company in the United States, is excited about the expansion.
